Container depot

A container depot or container yard is a location in which – generally – empty containers are stored until their next trip.
A container depot is typically located inside or near to a sea or rail terminal.

Once containers have been emptied of their cargo they are stored at a depot until they are needed again.
Depots are commonly operated by third party companies and used by multiple shipping lines.
