When importing cargo, you should be prepare to see it undergo a customs inspection.
Based on the shipment and cargo data, random selection or tip offs, customs may decide to inspect arriving containers and cargo.
These inspection can be carried out thanks to xRay tunnels or machines or can be physically carried out.
The physical inspection can go from simply opening the container (after having removed the seal) for a cursory examination to the unloading of the entire container and the inspection of every individual package.
Inspection fees are generally charge to the shipper.
About 5-10% of imported container are physically inspected.
