Export declaration

An export declaration is a statement made to the customs authority of the country from which the goods are exported.
It is made by the owner of the goods, or their agent – it can be generally done electronically or in paper form.

The statement includes information about the goods and the export transaction such as :

  • commodity classification code
  • departure and destination locations
  • shipper and consignee
  • goods’ type, amount and packaging
  • currencies and valuation of goods
  • transport methods

It must be submitted before the goods leave the country.
