An export declaration is a statement made to the customs authority of the country from which the goods are exported.
It is made by the owner of the goods, or their agent – it can be generally done electronically or in paper form.
The statement includes information about the goods and the export transaction such as :
- commodity classification code
- departure and destination locations
- shipper and consignee
- goods’ type, amount and packaging
- currencies and valuation of goods
- transport methods
It must be submitted before the goods leave the country.
